Does my store have a sitemap, and which pages are in it?
Every published store serves sitemap.xml and robots.txt automatically. Here's what's in them and what's deliberately kept out.
TL;DR: Yes, automatically. https://yourstore.btab.app/sitemap.xml (and the same path on your custom domain) lists your home page, products page, every product, your About page, your policy pages, blog and custom pages — kept current for you. robots.txt allows search engines everywhere except cart, checkout and account pages. There's nothing to configure.
What's in the sitemap?
| Page | Included when |
|---|---|
| Home and Products | Always |
| Every product | Always, at the product's own URL |
| About | Always |
| Delivery / Returns / Terms / Privacy policies | Only the ones you've filled in |
| Blog and each post | Only if you have at least one published post |
| Custom pages | Only pages that are published and not scheduled for the future |
Unpublished stores return an empty sitemap.
What does robots.txt allow?
Everything except /cart, /checkout, /wishlist, /compare and preview links — pages that are personal to a shopper and useless in search results. It also points crawlers at your sitemap.
BTAB deliberately allows AI search crawlers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Google's AI) as well as Google and Bing, so your products can be recommended inside AI answers. There isn't a per-store switch for this today.
Do I need to submit the sitemap anywhere?
Not for your free address — BTAB registers it with Google for every published store. If you've verified a custom domain in your own Search Console, add sitemap.xml there under Sitemaps so you can see its status yourself (see How do I verify my store in Google Search Console?).
Do this
Nothing — except keep products, policies and pages published. Check My Store → Domain → Google visibility to see how many of the sitemap's pages Google has indexed.
