Terms of Service

The rules for shopping on a Btab store, running one, supplying products through Btab, and connecting software to your account.

About these terms

These terms are between you and BTAB Ecommerce Services Pty Ltd (ABN 82 631 309 263) ("Btab", "we", "us"). They apply when you use btab.app, buy from a store that runs on Btab, open a store on Btab, supply products through Btab, or connect software (including AI apps) to a Btab account. By doing any of those things you agree to these terms.

Different parts apply to different people. Part A applies to everyone. Part B applies to shoppers. Part C applies to store owners. Part D applies to suppliers. Part E applies to developers and connected apps.

Part A — Everyone

What Btab is

Btab is a marketplace platform. Suppliers list products; Btab checks and prices them; store owners choose products and sell them through their own Btab-hosted store; shoppers buy from those stores. Btab processes orders, payments, delivery and returns for every store on the platform.

Who the seller is

For an order placed on a store hosted on Btab, BTAB Ecommerce Services Pty Ltd is the seller of record: Btab receives your payment, issues the tax invoice, and is responsible to you for the sale, unless the store's checkout and your order confirmation name the store operator as the seller. Some stores are set up as independent merchants who sell in their own name and receive payment directly; in that case the seller named on your order confirmation and tax invoice is the seller, and Btab provides the platform. The seller shown on your order confirmation is the seller for that order.

Acceptable use

You must not use Btab to break the law, infringe anyone's rights, sell anything that cannot legally be sold, send spam, attack or overload our systems, scrape the platform without permission, or interfere with other users. We may remove content and suspend or close accounts that do.

Accounts

Keep your login details, API keys and connected-app credentials secure. You are responsible for everything done with them until you tell us they have been compromised. You must give us accurate information and keep it up to date.

Our content and yours

Btab and its software, designs and brand belong to us or our licensors. Content you upload (product data, images, text, store designs) stays yours; you give us a licence to host, display, adapt and distribute it as needed to run your store and the marketplace, including through search, feeds, marketplaces and AI features. You promise you have the rights to what you upload.

Australian Consumer Law

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy under the Australian Consumer Law or any other law that cannot be excluded. Where the law allows us to limit our liability, our liability for a failure of a guarantee is limited, at our option, to resupplying the goods or services or paying the cost of having them resupplied.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, loss of profit, or loss of data, and our total liability to you for anything arising out of these terms in any 12-month period is limited to the amounts you paid to us (or we paid to you) in that period. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes, suspension and termination

We may change these terms; the date at the top shows the current version and significant changes are announced in the dashboards or by email. We may suspend or end access where these terms are broken, where the law requires it, or to protect the platform or its users. You can close your account at any time. Clauses that by their nature should survive (payment, liability, intellectual property, disputes) survive termination.

Disputes and law

Contact [email protected] first; most problems are fixed quickly. These terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia, and the courts there have jurisdiction, without limiting your rights under the Australian Consumer Law or your right to use a consumer complaints body.

Part B — Shoppers

Orders and prices

Prices are shown in Australian dollars and include GST where GST applies, unless the store states otherwise. An order is accepted when we send the order confirmation. We may cancel and refund an order if a product is unavailable, was listed at an obvious error in price, or the order fails our fraud checks.

Payment

Payments are processed by Stripe. Some stores also accept bank transfer or let you request a quote; those orders are confirmed once payment is received. We never see your full card number.

Delivery

Delivery costs and estimates are shown at checkout. Estimates are estimates. Products can ship from more than one location, so one order can arrive in more than one parcel. Risk in the goods passes to you on delivery.

Consumer guarantees, faults and returns

Under the Australian Consumer Law, goods must be of acceptable quality, match their description, and be fit for purpose. If something is faulty, not as described or does not arrive, contact the store or [email protected] with your order number and we will repair, replace or refund as the law requires. These guarantees cannot be excluded and are not limited by any store's returns policy.

Change-of-mind returns are offered at each store's discretion: a store may offer a return window (for example 14 or 30 days after delivery) or none. The store's Returns policy at checkout states what applies, and you can start a return from your order page within that window. Change-of-mind returns must be unused and in their original packaging, and the cost of returning them is yours unless the store says otherwise.

Refunds

Refunds go back to the payment method you used, normally within 10 business days of approval.

Part C — Store owners (vendors)

Your store

You can open a store yourself, at any time, without approval. You must be at least 18 and, if you are running a business, tell us the business name and ABN (or say that you do not have one). We check business identifiers against the Australian Business Register. You choose what to sell from the products available on Btab and design and publish your store. On a store Btab sells for, Btab sets the price of Btab's products; you set the price of your own goods. A store that sells under its own business sets its own selling prices within any limits shown. You are responsible for your store's content, its policies, and the marketing you do for it.

What you earn and what we charge

Your dashboard shows, for each product, what it sells for and what you make on each sale, before you list it. What you make is what is left after Btab's fee and margin, which are set in the agreement you accept when you open your store. GST is applied as the law requires.

Payouts

Btab receives the customer's payment and pays you what you have earned through Stripe or by bank transfer on the schedule shown in your dashboard, after refunds, chargebacks and fees. You must complete payout onboarding (identity and bank details) before you can be paid. Amounts under the minimum shown roll over to the next payout.

Your obligations

Keep your store honest: prices, descriptions and policies must be accurate and lawful. Do not sell anything Btab has not made available or that cannot legally be sold. Respond to customer enquiries promptly. Do not use your store, its content or its customer data to break privacy, spam or consumer law. Customer data you receive may only be used to fulfil and support orders from your store.

Btab's suppliers: no going around Btab

The suppliers whose products you sell through Btab supply Btab, not your store. Btab finds them, checks them, prices their products and places every order with them, so that you never need to deal with them yourself.

While you have a store on Btab, and for 12 months after it closes, you must not:

  • contact a supplier you came to know through Btab (including from a product, its packaging or labels, delivery paperwork, or anything else you learn through an order) to buy its products, or products made to the same design, other than through Btab;
  • ask or encourage such a supplier to sell to you, or to another business of yours, outside Btab;
  • use Btab's product data, images, descriptions, prices or supplier information to source the same products elsewhere, or copy, scrape, export or resell the catalogue except through the tools your dashboard provides.

This does not apply to:

  • your own suppliers that you add to your own store;
  • a supplier you already dealt with before you joined Btab, if you tell us who it is (we record it);
  • the supplier whose invitation link you used to open your store on Btab.

If you break this clause we may suspend your store straight away, hold your earnings on the orders concerned while we look into it, and close the store. You will owe Btab the Platform Fee and Btab's margin (its cost and share inside the wholesale price) that it would have earned on what you bought around Btab.

Domains

You can connect a domain you own, or buy one through Btab. Domain registrations are subject to the registrar's terms. If your account closes, domains you bought through Btab remain yours to transfer.

Suspension and closure

We may pause a store that breaks these terms, attracts fraud or chargebacks, or is required to be paused by law, and will tell you why. You can close your store at any time; earned amounts are paid on the normal schedule after any refund period has passed.

Part D — Suppliers

By listing products through Btab you confirm that you own or are authorised to sell them, that the product data you provide (descriptions, images, prices, stock, dimensions and weights) is accurate and lawful, and that you will fulfil orders and honour consumer guarantees for what you supply. Btab may check, edit, price, approve or decline any product. Your supply price and Btab's charges are shown in the supplier dashboard per product. Payments to you are made on the schedule and terms shown in your dashboard. You receive delivery details only for the order lines you fulfil, and may use them only to fulfil those orders.

Part E — Developers and connected apps

API keys, the vendor API and the MCP endpoint let you and software you authorise act on your account. Anything done through them is done by you. Keep credentials secret; revoke them if in doubt. Connected AI apps act within the permission you granted (read only, or read and change) and every change is recorded in your dashboard, where you can undo most of them and disconnect the app. Use of the public APIs is subject to fair-use limits and may be restricted to protect the platform.
