How is my selling price calculated, and what do I earn?
You set the retail price; your earnings are the reseller margin — what's left after the wholesale cost and the 15% platform fee.
TL;DR: You set the retail price (or your margin); your earnings are the reseller margin — what's left after the wholesale cost and the 15% platform fee.
The breakdown on every product
retail (the selling price)
− wholesale (what BTAB pays the supplier)
− platform fee (15% of the retail price)
──────────────────────────────────────────
= your margin ← what you keep
In your dashboard you'll see, per product: the wholesale price, the platform fee portion, your margin ("you earn per sale"), and the retail price.
Two levers you control
- Price higher → bigger margin per sale, fewer sales (usually).
- Price lower → thinner margin, more volume (usually).
The one rule to remember
The platform fee is 15% of the retail price. The breakdown shown in your dashboard is calculated from the retail price set on the product — change the retail price and the margin and fee recalculate. Your wholesale floor is fixed (it's set when the product is approved); your margin is whatever is left of the retail price after that wholesale floor and the 15% fee.
What this means for you: your profit is the top slice of the price stack. Set retail with both the wholesale floor and the 15% fee in mind, and your displayed margin is what lands with you.
