How do I verify my store in Google Search Console?
Only needed if you have a custom domain. Use Google's HTML tag method and paste the tag on Website \u2192 Domain.

TL;DR: You only need this if you use a custom domain. Add your domain as a property in Google Search Console, choose the HTML tag method, paste the tag into the Google Search Console box at the bottom of Website → Domain, click Save, then click Verify on Google's side.
Do I need this on the free .btab.app address?
No. yourstore.btab.app is already covered by BTAB's own verified btab.app property — BTAB registers your sitemap and collects your numbers, and shows them to you in the Google visibility card (see How do I know if Google can see my store?). You can't add a *.btab.app address to your own Search Console, and you don't need to.
Which verification method works?
The HTML tag method. BTAB places Google's google-site-verification tag in the <head> of every page of your store. The other Google methods (HTML file upload, Google Analytics, Tag Manager) aren't available on BTAB storefronts. DNS TXT verification works too, but you'd do that entirely at your registrar — BTAB has no part in it.
Steps
- In Search Console, click Add property → URL prefix → enter
https://www.yourstore.com/(exactly as your custom domain is set up) → Continue. - Choose HTML tag and copy the whole
<meta …>line. - In BTAB: Website → Domain, scroll to Google Search Console, paste the tag (or just its
contentvalue) and click Save. You'll see "✓ Verification tag is live in your store's ." - Back in Search Console, click Verify.
Your custom domain must already be Live for Google to reach the tag. Leave the tag in place afterwards — removing it (clear the box → Remove) un-verifies you.
Do this
Once verified, the two things worth doing in Search Console are Sitemaps → add sitemap.xml and, for a brand-new store, URL inspection → Request indexing on your home page.
