Why was my product rejected, and how do I fix it?
A rejected product comes back with a reason. Open the product, read the reason, fix it, and click Submit for Review again — resubmitting is a normal part of the process.
TL;DR: A rejected product comes back with a reason. Open the product, read the reason, fix what it points to, and click Submit for Review again. Resubmitting is normal — it's not a strike against you.
How review works
Every product moves through the same stages:
- Draft — added but not yet submitted.
- Pending Review — submitted and waiting for BTAB.
- Approved — accepted and available to vendors, or
- Rejected — sent back to you with a reason to fix.
A Rejected status just means something needs a change before the product can go live. Once you fix it and resubmit, it goes back into review.
Finding your rejected products
On your Products list, each product shows a status badge. To see only the ones that need attention, use the status filter (All Status) and choose Rejected. Rejected rows also show the reason inline as Reason: …, so you can often see what to fix without opening the product.
Reading the rejection reason
Open the product to see the full detail. A rejected product shows a Rejection Reason at the top. Further down, the Status History lists each step — when it was submitted, and when it was approved or rejected, with any note the reviewer left.
Fixing and resubmitting
- Open the rejected product and read the Rejection Reason.
- Make the fix — for example, add or replace an image, or correct the product details.
- Click Submit for Review again. The product goes back to Pending Review.
The Submit for Review button works the same for a rejected product as for a fresh draft — there's no separate "resubmit" step to find.
Common reasons
- Missing or low-quality images — every product needs at least one clear image. See How do I add images to my products?.
- Incomplete or unclear details — a vague name or missing information can hold a product up.
- Price or product info that needs a correction — fix what the reason points to and resubmit.
Don't worry about resubmitting
Getting a product sent back is a normal part of listing on BTAB — reviewers are making sure everything looks right for buyers. Fix the reason, resubmit, and it goes straight back into the queue. See How do I get my products onto BTAB? for the full journey.
